Sara-Lena Maierhofer (b. 1982, D) is a visual artist working with photography and archival material, at times expanding her installations by other forms of media. She uses the field of photography as a territory of investigation into the past and present of memory and identity, combining modes and concepts of analog and digital photography.
She graduated in 2011 from the University for Applied Sciences Bielefeld with a degree in Photography and Media Art. Her work as been exhibited at Museum für Photographie, Berlin, FOAM Museum for Photography, Amsterdam, Zentrum für Kunst und Medien, Karlsruhe, C/O Berlin and Deichtorhallen Hamburg and is included in several permanent collections. She has been awarded the DZ Bank Projektstipendium für künstlerische Fotografie, the Dokumentarfotografie Förderpreis Wüstenrot Stiftung and received working grants by Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn and Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg. Maierhofer lives and works in Berlin.
