Katja Davar

Katja Davar explores the relationship between humans, nature and new technologies in videos, drawings and digital animations. Each of Davar's works is based on intensive research into the respective subject matter. Thus, large-scale drawings or digital works with profound references to the international history of art and literature come to be in the artist's Cologne studio. Her multifaceted motifs take up utopian and dystopian aspects of modern life.
In doing so, the British-German artist sees her digital art as an extension of her drawing practice. Katja Davar's work creates awareness of the fact that the boundaries between human activity, technological developments and the organic environment are not as clear-cut as we sometimes assume.
