In her oil paintings, Anna Leonhardt explores space, form, and color.
The thick layers of paint, applied with a palette knife, create painterly surfaces that project into real space through their texture and plasticity. Despite the heaviness of the material, they appear light and airy. In an infinite space, color-bodies seem to float, drawing us in through their inherent visual tension.

The artist studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden and now lives in Berlin and New York City. More
