We are pleased to inform you today about another wonderful exhibition featuring works by the artist Thomas Wrede:
As part of the International Year of Glacier Preservation, proclaimed by UNESCO for 2025, the Swiss Camera Museum in Vevey is presenting a special dual exhibition dedicated to the preservation of these giants of ice.
The first part showcases a selection of photo prints from the museum’s extensive collections, highlighting its fundamental role in preserving this unique visual heritage.
The second part features contemporary photographs of Alpine glaciers covered with protective thermal blankets – a measure aimed at slowing their melting. Curated by Nathalie Dietschy (UNIL), this body of work presents a wide range of artistic and scientific perspectives on these changing landscapes and offers a powerful reflection on the challenges of their preservation.
