For its summer exhibition, the Kunstverein Konstanz brings together four women artists. Three of them – Christiane Dessecker, Leonie Mertes and Jaeyun Moon – studied under the fourth, Katharina Hinsberg, Professor of Conceptual Painting at the Saar University of Fine Arts in Saarbrücken.
In the exhibition weiss auch, grau, vielleicht schillernd, all four artists explore the medium of drawing. Each approaches aspects of drawing – gesture, structure, difference and repetition – in a distinctive way. What unites them is the understanding that the drawn line originates in bodily movement and can inscribe itself plastically within space or within the pictorial surface itself.
