Female painter Çiğdem Aky (*1989, Munich) contrasts a refined painterly core with a powerful, gestural brushstroke. Ranging between spontaneity and method, she thus has created an easily recognizable pictorial scheme. By means of layering, translucency and superimposition, however, her abstract pictorial elements create a surprising interplay of emotions, color moods or narration miniatures. As a scholarship holder from the HAP-Grieshaber-Stiftung, she has lived and worked in Reutlingen for ten months. The exhibition at Kunstmuseum Reutlingen | Galerie features her latest large-scale works.
