On November 23, 2023, the author Ernst-Wilhelm Händler will be a guest in our gallery and read from his book "Der absolute Feind", recently published by S. Fischer Verlag. Afterwards, he will talk with Bernhard Knaus. Please note that the event will take place in German.
A writer is commissioned to write a book about the fictional gallery owner Georg Voigtländer. The writer delves into the world of the art business and into the psyche of the gallery owner. He accompanies him to art fairs in Hong Kong and New York and travels to the Venice Art Biennale. In this novel, contemporary art is at the center: Händler does not say what art is, but shows how art happens, in the interaction of artists, gallery owners, and collectors. It is a book from inside art - the cool report from its hot heart.
We look forward to a thought-provoking evening in our current exhibition with works by Terry Haggery, where together we will take a critical look at the art world.
