Katharina Hinsberg is considered one of the most important representatives of installation-based spatial art in Germany that originates from drawing. At the center of her solo exhibition at the Städtische Galerie Neunkirchen is a walk-in, ever-changing color-space installation, developed specifically for this exhibition space as part of her series “Feldern (Farben)”. For this work, mobile partition walls have been covered on all sides with multiple layers of colored tissue paper, creating grid-like structures that form "color-space bodies." Based on designs developed by the artist in collaboration with students from HBK Saar, the layers of paper will be gradually removed over the course of the exhibition. Each week, new colors and grid images will be revealed, resulting in striking compositions of constantly shifting color spaces.
In addition to the walk-in, transformative color-space sculpture, the exhibition also presents delicate drawings and new paper works from the series "Säumnisse", shown here for the first time.
