04.09.2025
Zentrum für Fotografie, Dornbirn, AT
The FLATZ Museum – Centre for Photography is exhibiting parts of Annette and Peter Nobel's outstanding photo collection for the first time. Works by Man Ray, Alexander Rodchenko, Wolfgang Tillmans, Andreas Gursky, Gilbert & George, Alfredo Jaar, Daniele Buetti, Barbara Kruger, Robert Capa, Thomas Ruff, Shirana Shahbazi, Manon and Henri-Cartier Bresson, among others, are on display. The exhibition takes a look at an omnipresent visual medium in the course of time, whose disruptive role is gaining additional relevance against the backdrop of the AI debate.
The invention of photography and its mass dissemination through print media were decisive moments for the perception of the world we live in. Since then, our perception of reality has been strongly influenced by prefabricated images. The collection includes works of art that focus on this causal relationship.
Opening: Thursday, 4 September 2025 at 7 p.m.
Curator Christoph Doswald will speak at the opening.
